What is the difference between Juvederm and BOTOX
The key difference between the two is that the family of Juvederm products are fillers that temporarily remain under the mid-to-deep dermis. BOTOX is a neuromodulator injected beneath the skin’s surface to target the underlying muscle activity, which is one of the causes of those moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and crow’s feet. Both may be used together, depending on your desired results and the recommendation of our cosmetic nurse injectors.
BOTOX® COSMETIC FOR MEN AND WOMEN
A BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment is a simple, non-surgical procedure that smooths the deep, persistent lines between your brows that developed over time. One procedure using a few tiny injections - relaxes the muscles that cause those lines to form and keeps them relaxed up to four months. The results are dramatic and apparent within a week to two weeks. Most people return directly to work or regular activity following treatment, please see instructions for after procedure. Repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, or raising eyebrows cause skin to furrow and fold, gradually resulting in the formation of facial lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic works beneath the surface and temporarily reduces the underlying muscle activity that causes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines in adults – to help them look visibly smoother.

Botox Dysport Xeomin
When Allergan’s Botox was FDA approved for anti-aging benefits over ten years ago, it was the only brand of its kind on the market in the United States. Botox is a leading cosmetic treatment that drastically reduces the appearance of crow’s feet, lines on the forehead and frown lines. With US FDA approval and the launch of this revolutionary anti-aging product, millions continue to turn to Botox as part of their aesthetic regimen for looking younger.
However, two other companies have entered the market and are having tremendous success: Dysport and Xeomin. Medicis’ Dysport allowed us to give patients a choice in neurotoxins when it came on the market six years ago. Noted benefits of Dysport include that it spreads more than Botox and patients who have stopped responding to Botox commonly use it. It is also injected at a different strength and affects a slightly larger area than Botox and Xeomin.
What’s the difference between brands? Xeomin and Dysport act quicker than botox, in a few days, whereas botox may take up to 6 days. Xeomin has no preservatives and is more natural. Dysport spreads a little more than the others and requires 3 units to equal 1 unit of the other brands.
What to expect with treatment
Some patients receiving BOTOX® Cosmetic report the injections feel like a pinch. You may begin to notice a visible smoothing of frown lines, crow’s feet and forehead lines within a week to two weeks, with results lasting up to 4 months for moderate to severe frown lines in adults. BOTOX® Cosmetic is not a permanent treatment. If you discontinue treatment the moderate to severe frown lines, crow's feet and forehead lines will gradually return.
What results should I expect after Botox treatments?
You may notice results within a few days, but it can take up to a week to two weeks to see the full effect. This improvement typically lasts about three to four months. The effects of botulinum toxin begin to fade, your muscle reactions and the wrinkles will return.
What are the steps of Botox procedures?

Which product in the Juvederm family is right for my treatment?
The Juvederm family of products are non-surgical fillers your Expert Nurse Injector uses to instantly improve concerns of volume loss, or to help enhance natural features. Each product targets different concerns on the face, and after a Full Facial Assessment with one of our cosmetic nurse injectors, we can help determine which is right for you!
How long do Juvederm treatments take?
Depending on the length of your consultation and desired results, treatment time may range. We prefer to book your appointment with additional time allowed, in case you have any questions or need the treatment to be modified for extra comfort and ease.
How long do results last?
Juvederm XC treatments may last one year or slightly longer. Juvederm Voluma may last up to two years, depending on type and number of treatments before desired results are achieved. Volbella results may last up to one year. Volluma results may last up to 18 months. Results may vary.
How many treatments do I need?
While results are not permanent, they are long lasting. Most clients need only one treatment to achieve their desired results, but may continue to return for on-going maintenance.

Is treatment painful?
After consultation, a topical numbing agent may be used to help ease any possible discomfort from injection. Several of the Juvederm family of products include built-in lidocaine to help ease discomfort during and post-treatment. Most patients do not report discomfort beyond a minor and manageable level, and due to our careful and tested techniques, experience even less discomfort than is standard.
How long do Juvederm treatments take?

Static wrinkles include those around the mouth and along the cheeks. These wrinkles are usually a result of a loss of collagen and elasticity in the skin.
All filler syringes have lidocaine in them for numbing to help with any discomfort. Topical numbing cream is also applied prior to injections and ice is provided. Discomfort is mild.Treatments are an elective cosmetic treatment which are not covered by insurance claims.
